The tech ecosystem screams at us to ship faster. To automate every second. To reply instantly. But as a solopreneur and a father, I've realized one fundamental truth: true luxury today isn't speed. It's the ability to become impossible to rush.

The permanent mandate of urgency

Major cheat code for life: Become difficult to rush. The world will pressure you to rush into everything. Rushed decisions. Rushed conversations. Rushed relationships.
— Sahil Bloom

We live in an era where AI generates code in seconds and clients expect instant replies on Slack or WhatsApp. The default state of our industry is a frantic sprint. AI is sold to us as an engine to do 10 times more things in the same day. The result? We botch project architectures, make reactive decisions, and sacrifice our mental bandwidth.

My reality: slowing down to protect what matters

My life here in La Réunion is an ecosystem that requires presence. I am married, we are raising a daughter in middle school, and we are expecting our second child—a little boy due in late July 2026. On the business side, I am a pure solopreneur. My company is just me. I don't have a co-founder to catch my mistakes at 2 AM. If I give in to urgency and push sloppy code on a Friday afternoon, my family weekend blows up.

For a long time, I thought I had to match the pace of venture-backed startups. It was a monumental mistake. The true freedom of the solopreneur is controlling the throttle. Today, I refuse to let other people's anxiety dictate my tempo.

AI as a time shield

The irony of the situation? My job is to automate processes. But I don't use these tools to work faster. I use them to absorb the frantic pace of the outside world. When I set up an automatisation IA n8n for my business, it handles the noise: sorting emails, qualifying leads, syncing data.

This technological filter creates an airlock. While the machine handles the urgent in milliseconds, I buy myself the right to be slow on what's important. This allows me to architect a développement SaaS sur mesure with a clear head, or to be 100% mentally present when my daughter tells me about her day at middle school.

  • Zero critical bugs in production on Friday nights: code thought out slowly doesn't break.
  • Real mental presence at home, essential as we prepare for the arrival of our future baby.
  • Strategic decisions that age well, instead of technical band-aids applied in a rush.
  • Preserved mental health: stress slides off me, it no longer accumulates.

Slowness is not laziness

Be careful not to confuse strategic slowness with procrastination. It's not about doing nothing. It's about a deliberate pace. It's consciously choosing when to accelerate (to fix a real incident) and when to slow down (to design, to listen, to live). The world will always try to impose its tempo on you. Your greatest power as a solopreneur is to say: "No, we play at my speed."

AI promises we can do 10x more things in a day. I use it to do less, but better. Strategic slowness is the true luxury of the solopreneur.

02

If you give in to your clients' urgency, you sacrifice your family evenings. Become impossible to rush.

You can't "hack" the cooking time of good code or raising a child. Slow down.

If you want to stop chasing time and start building solid foundations, let's talk. Whether it's to delegate digital noise via an automatisation IA n8n or to design a développement SaaS sur mesure that won't break at the first gust of wind, I build at the right pace. The one that lasts.
